Smart-lock setup depends on the model, but the core process is usually similar. Complete setup carefully before relying on the lock as your main access point.

Setup Checklist

• Install fresh quality batteries with the correct polarity.
• Create or confirm the admin password before adding users.
• Add fingerprints one finger at a time and test each fingerprint several times.
• Add cards, PIN codes, or app users only for people who need access.
• Test lock and unlock from inside and outside the door.
• Test the mechanical backup key and keep it outside the locked room.
• If the model uses Wi-Fi or a gateway, confirm app pairing and network stability.

Common Setup Issues

If fingerprints fail, clean the sensor and re-register the finger from different angles. If the app will not pair, check Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, gateway distance, phone permissions, and the model manual. If passwords fail, confirm admin mode and avoid sharing master access unnecessarily.

Security Tip

Change default passwords immediately. Remove users who no longer need access, especially for Airbnb, rentals, staff rooms, offices, and shared properties.
